One of the dials on the back of the clock is for setting the alarm. The other one is for setting the time. Ensure the switch is set to the on position and the alarm will be in the hour position. For example, if the small hand is set to 7 on the clock face, it will go off at 7am or 7pm, whichever comes first. It is recommended to turn off the alarm when it is not needed to prevent the alarm going off prematurely
